Capital of the Sundgau region of southern Alsace, at the crossroad between Haut-Rhin and Switzerland, Altkirch was the last important place I wanted to visit. It lies on the train line between Mulhouse and Belfort and it is lost among the forests and the hills specific to the Jura Mountains. As you’ll see in the photos below, it has a distinct style, on the continuum between Alsace and Switzerland, a bit more Alemmanic and having a bit more of a feeling of old.
